はじめに

be動詞とは何ぞやと感じる方も多くいると思いますがbe動詞というのは主語Sの状態を表すときに動詞である。例）私は眠たい　I am sleepy など。例で挙げたように主語Sの状態を表しているため、be動詞の後ろには『形容詞』『名詞』を続けるようにしましょう。また一般動詞というのは具体的なアクションや行動を表現するために使われています。

まずbe動詞というのは主語によって変わるものです。次の表をご覧ください。

※I’mやWe’re, He’sのような省略形などの形もあります

このように人称や単数、複数によってbe動詞というものは変化していきます。なのではじめはこの表を暗記するところから始めていきましょう。疑問形にしたい場合は主語とbe動詞の位置を入れ替えればいいです。

疑問詞とは簡単に言うと疑問文に使用される疑問を表す単語です。今回はその中でも多く扱われるものを９つ紹介します。

Who 　誰？	Who is that boy? あの少年は誰ですか？
When いつ？	When is your birthday? あなたの誕生日はいつですか？
Where どこ？	Where is my pen? 私のペンはどこですか？

Whose 　だれの？	Whose book is this? これはだれの本ですか？
Whom 　だれを？　だれに？	For whom do you work? どちらにお勤め？
Which どれ？	Which do you like, soccer or baseball? あなたはサッカーと野球のどちらが好きですか？
How どのように？	How do you come to school? あなたはどのようにして学校に来ますか？
